A friend of mine was picking up her aging parent’s prescription and she realized that the drug that she picked up was not her mother’s prescription. A simple mistake, yes, but it could have caused serious health complications or worse.
Pharmacists are human and the larger drugstores’ chain-of-command has many employees interacting with your order. The bottom line is that in regards to your prescriptions, or one’s that you pick up for a member of your family, check the bottle for the name, and look at the medication to make sure that they look like what they should.
If your parent takes a variety of pills, take pictures of each one, print the pictures out and write the names and prescription numbers on the back. Then you could create an inventory and have an accurate record to keep everyone’s best health in order.
